Voar
Voar
This is my second DVD and there are some superb films.
I have experimented with various different ideas, including using an evocative Shetland dialect poem, Voar Wadder (Spring Weather).
This DVD encapsulates the true essence of Voar (spring). We had a long, rough winter. Spring came very late and eventually brought with it new colour and life. The Voar film reflects this.
Channel 4, Fourdocs Editor wrote about Whaap (curlew) “When the subject of your film is the shy, fast-moving, well-disguised Curlew, a decision to use photographic stills is a brave one. But it works a treat here as a sympathetically edited and lyrical window onto the private life of this beautiful British bird. Good music too!”
The Voar DVD has four films, Whaap, Voar, Voar Wadder and Da Street. The accompanying traditional Shetland fiddle music is beautiful and evocative.
Whaar’ll I in Winter dwell?
Whaar’ll I in Voar dell?
Whaar’ll I in Simmer fare?
Whaar’ll I in Hairst shair?
